Join through the platform friends list

If the host and player are friends on the same platform service, start with the simple path:

  1. The host opens the group’s saved world.
  2. The joining player opens the active friends-game list in Big Walk.
  3. Select the host’s game and connect.

The Mac App Store edition does not support Game Center integration, so its players should skip directly to a Join Code.

Join with a code

Join Codes are the platform-independent route and work well for crossplay groups.

  1. Have the correct host start the intended save.
  2. Before starting, read the code in the corner of the host menu. If the session is already running, open the in-game menu and choose Session Details.
  3. Share that short code privately with the people joining.
  4. Each player chooses the Join Code option and enters the current code exactly.

The official FAQ says the code is unique and generated each time the host starts a session. An older code may therefore fail even when every character was entered correctly.

Passwords and mid-session changes

The host can change the session password while the game is running from Session Details. If a friend suddenly cannot connect, confirm both the fresh Join Code and current password before changing network settings.

What crossplay does not change

Crossplay lets supported systems share one session, but it does not transfer ownership of the save. The host remains the keeper of progress, must enter first, and disconnecting the host ends the session for everyone else.

If the game does not appear

Use a Join Code before assuming crossplay is unavailable. If that also fails, check the current code, password, game version, and the host’s connection. Our connection checklist covers the remaining steps without presenting community guesses as confirmed outages.
