What the Lost & Found is for

Big Walk lets players carry, drop, throw, and accidentally kick objects. PC Gamer’s hands-on report describes items bouncing into woods or down mountainsides, while a GamesRadar developer interview specifically says the starting area has a Lost & Found where such things respawn.

A safe recovery check

  1. Search the immediate drop area together, especially downhill.
  2. Make sure another player did not attach or carry the item away.
  3. Return to the starting area.
  4. Inspect the Lost & Found for the missing object.
  5. If it is not present, continue with another activity and check again later.

This site has not independently confirmed the reset trigger. Reloading, abandoning progress, or changing hosts is therefore not recommended as a first step.

If the missing object was part of a puzzle

Avoid assuming the save is broken. The Lost & Found exists because the game’s physics make misplaced items a normal possibility. If an object still does not return and the challenge is inaccessible, the host can use the game’s official challenge-skip accessibility option.

Still needs in-game verification

The following details remain open: the exact Lost & Found landmark in the launch build; whether optional tools and puzzle objects use the same return timing; and whether returning requires distance, a session reload, or another trigger. Corrections with an original screenshot and platform/version details are welcome.
